Soaring to 8,163 meters above sea level, Mount Manaslu stands as the eighth highest mountain globally. It lies within the Mansiri Himal subrange of the Nepali Himalayas in the west-central region of the country. Its name "Manaslu" stems from the Sanskrit word manasa, translating to "spirit" or "soul mountain," reflecting its divine aura. This formidable peak, which inspires a sense of reverence, is a centerpiece of its surroundings.

Today we will travel by road to Soti Khola, about 140 km away from the capital, about 6 hours of travel. We will spend the night in Soti Khola.

The beginning of our trekking route runs along a track. We will pass through several villages of the Gurung, Bramin, Tamang, Chhetri, Damai and Sarki ethnic groups. The landscape is tropical, full of rice cultivation terraces. In addition, we will enjoy the views of Ganesh Himal IV (7140 m.) We will spend the night in the small town of Machhakhola.

Today we will turn off the road to start walking along the path that takes us to the characteristic villages of the Manaslu region. We now enter the Manaslu Restricted Conservation Area. We spent the night in the town of Salleri.

Today's trek allows us to immerse in the unique Gurung culture while walking among countless waterfalls. We bid farewell to Tsum Valley on our right and enter a dense bamboo forest. Our route continues along the Budhi Gandaki Valley until we arrive in the village of Deng for tonight’s accommodation.

Starting today, the culture, the landscape and the traits of the people take a turn and we enter territory where Tibetan culture predominates. Along the way we will find numerous Chorten (Stupas), walls and wheels of Mani. Namrung is a historically important town, since the well-known Salt Route passed through it.

The valley opens up as we discover the most authentic towns in the Region. And before our eyes, Mount Manaslu, the mountain of spirits, 8163 m. altitude, in addition to Nadi Chuli (7871 m.), Himal Chuli (7893 m.), Manaslu North (7157 m.), Naike peak Pangbuche Himal, Simnang Himal, Saula Himal and Shringi Himal and Ganesh Himal. We will spend the night in Shyala.

Today the route will be short to be able to rest and regain strength. In the afternoon we will take a walk to Lake Birendra, which is located at the foot of Mount Manaslu. Sama Gaon, where we will spend the night, is the largest town in the valley. So you can take the opportunity to buy provisions (nuts, etc.). From this point it is advisable to increase water consumption even more.

We will reach Manaslu Base Camp in the morning. There we will find the most impressive views of the entire trek and we will be surrounded 360° by the giants of the Himalayas.
We will return to eat and rest in Sama Gaon. This day will help us acclimatize before reaching the Larkya La pass.

Today we will arrive at the last town in the area, Samdo, where barely 200 people live. The route will be quite calm, we will only climb 400 meters in the afternoon to acclimatize while we observe the mountains from a different perspective.

Today's route passes by the Larkey Glacier, before reaching Dharmashala. Starting today we return to the alpine landscape area.

The queen stage of trekking arrives. We will pass the highest hill, at 5160 meters above sea level.
The terrain we will find is glacial moraine, somewhat stony and sometimes covered with some snow. The view from here is unforgettable. We will see Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kangguru and the great Annapurna II. Afterwards, we will descend to Bhimtang, from where we will see the northwest face of Manaslu.

We say goodbye to the impressive views of the mountains and enter the dense forest of conifers, blue pine and oaks, until we reach Goa, a cozy camp of wooden cabins.

On the last day of the trek we will walk for a couple of hours until we reach Dharapani, from where we will take a jeep that will take us to the city of Besisahar and from there we will take transport to Kathmandu.

Following our Manaslu trek, we will explore the historically and culturally rich Kathmandu Valley. Highlights include leisurely tours of Swayambhunath Temple (also known as Monkey Temple), Bauddhanath, Pashupatinath Temple, and Durbar Square. After several days in the mountains, we can soak in these iconic sites that represent the essence of Kathmandu and the heritage of Nepal.
