Overview

The Peaky Peak Trek is a hidden gem in Nepal, offering a blend of adventure, culture, and serenity. Nestled in the Solukhumbu region, this trek takes you through remote Sherpa villages, lush forests, alpine meadows, and high-altitude ridges, culminating at the Peaky Peak Base Camp, which offers spectacular Himalayan panoramas including Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.


Unlike the popular Everest or Annapurna trails, Peaky Peak remains off-the-beaten-path, giving trekkers a chance to experience peaceful landscapes, authentic culture, and uninterrupted nature. With moderate trekking difficulty, it is suitable for trekkers seeking a unique Himalayan adventure without the crowds.

 

Itinerary

Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu(1,400m)

Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. Meet our representative and transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu. After some rest, enjoy a short walk around Thamel to recover from your journey. In the evening, detailed trip briefing covering safety, altitude and awareness.

Day 02 : Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing

A guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley offers an introduction to Nepal’s rich history, spirituality, and architecture. Key highlights include Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) with panoramic city views, Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal’s most sacred Hindu site on the Bagmati River, and Boudhanath Stupa, one of the world’s largest Buddhist stupas. The visit is completed with time in Kathmandu Durbar Square, showcasing ancient palaces, temples, and traditional Newari craftsmanship

Day 03 : Kathmandu(1,400m) to Dhap (1,750m)

Begin your adventure with a scenic drive from Kathmandu through rolling hills, terraced farmlands, and small villages. Pass rivers and forests before reaching Dhap, a quiet village where the trek begins. Take the evening to prepare your gear and rest before the trek. Overnight stay in a cozy teahouse.


Distance: 200 km by road | Ascent: +350m | Descent: -0m | Approx. Duration: 6-7 hours

Day 04 : Dhap to Jhapre(2,000m)

Start trekking on a gentle uphill trail through lush subtropical forests and terraced fields. Cross streams and enjoy views of distant Himalayan peaks. Pass through traditional villages and interact with locals, learning about their lifestyle and traditions. Arrive in Jhapre for an overnight stay, with warm hospitality and home-cooked meals.


Distance: 12 km | Ascent: +450m | Descent: -200m | Approx. Duration: 5-6 hours

Day 05 : Jhapre to Pikey Peak Base Camp (3,900m)

This is a more challenging day with steep ascents as you move from the lower hills into alpine terrain. Trek through rhododendron and pine forests, cross ridges, and experience dramatic changes in landscape. Arrive at Peaky Peak BC, where the views of the surrounding Himalayan giants are breathtaking. Enjoy a peaceful evening surrounded by snow-capped peaks and prepare for sunrise views the next morning.


Distance: 10 km | Ascent: +1,950m | Descent: -50m | Approx. Duration: 6-7 hours


Day 06 : Pikey Peak BC to Junbesi(2,650m)

Begin your descent from Peaky Peak BC, enjoying panoramic vistas as the sun rises over the mountains. Trek down through alpine meadows, past rivers, and into lower forests. Arrive at Junbesi, a traditional Sherpa village known for its monastery and vibrant local culture. Explore the village and meet friendly locals. Overnight stay in a teahouse.


Distance: 14 km | Ascent: +150m | Descent: -1,400m | Approx. Duration: 6-7 hours

Day 07 : Junbesi to Thuptencholing(3,050m) and Return to Junbesi

Today, you’ll take a day hike to Thuptencholing Monastery, a spiritual highlight of the region. Trek through forests and ridges, enjoy the quiet surroundings, and soak in panoramic mountain views. Experience meditation and learn about Buddhist traditions from the monks. Return to Junbesi for the night, reflecting on the cultural and spiritual richness of the day.


Distance: 12 km round trip | Ascent: +500m | Descent: -500m | Approx. Duration: 5-6 hours

Day 08 : Junbesi to Phaplu(2,500m)

Descend along a scenic valley trail with rivers, forests, and farmland. Pass smaller villages and enjoy the serenity of less-traveled paths. Arrive in Phaplu, a small town with an airstrip, where you can relax and enjoy a final night in teahouse comfort.


Distance: 15 km | Ascent: +300m | Descent: -450m | Approx. Duration: 6-7 hours

Day 09 : Phaplu to Kathmandu(1,400m)

Complete your trek with a return journey to Kathmandu. You may choose to fly over the Himalayan range for spectacular aerial views or take a scenic drive through mountain roads, rivers, and small towns. Celebrate the completion of your adventure and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Kathmandu before concluding your journey.

Day 10 : Final Departure

 Transfer to Tribhuwan international Airport for final departure
