Overview

The Upper Mustang Trek is a challenging but rewarding trek in the remote Mustang region of Nepal, which lies in the rain shadow of the Himalayas. This trek takes you through an arid, windswept landscape that resembles the Tibetan plateau, with its colorful rock formations, ancient Buddhist monasteries, and traditional villages virtually untouched by modern development. The trek offers a unique opportunity to experience the rich Tibetan-influenced culture and lifestyle of the Mustang region, as well as stunning Himalayan vistas and high-altitude deserts. With its limited annual visitor quota, the Upper Mustang Trek provides an off-the-beaten-path experience for adventurous trekkers looking to explore one of Nepal's last remaining Himalayan enclaves.
